Growing up as an Army brat I traveled a lot! I’ve lived in Texas, Maryland, Alabama, Nebraska, California, and the majority of my youth was spent in Germany. I’ve always loved the excitement that change brings and this year will be no different.
The University of Texas at El Paso, better known as UTEP, is where I earned my Bachelor’s of Science degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Reading. Go Miners! It’s the home of the Sun Bowl. El Paso is also where I developed my love of anything and everything spicy!
Family is very important to me. My kids are my pride and joy! I have three sons and 3 step kids.
Ryan, my oldest, has his undergraduate degree from A&M and his masters from the University of Florida. He is a lover of all things science related and lives in Bryan, Texas.
My middle son, Taylor, has an engineering degree from A&M and works in Houston. This past January he married Ashley, she is a practicing Physician’s Assistant.
My youngest, Clayton, just graduated from Texas State, with a communications degree and a minor in Art. (He has my gypsy genes, is very creative and has a servant’s heart.) I can’t wait to see what he does with his degree.
My beautiful step-daughter Kristy got her degree from UT. She just had a fairy tale wedding in New Orleans this June. Her husband, Joe we all love, they live in McKinney, Texas.
Josh, my oldest stepson, got his degree from UT Arlington, and is almost done with the M.B.A. program at A&M. This summer he worked for Johnson & Johnson in Philadelphia.
Anthony chose to go to Chef School and is living in Bryan, Texas. So as you can see, we definitely have a house divided!
When I’m not spending time with my family you will find me reading, gardening, cooking, supervising Buck and Maggie, or if I’m lucky, traveling.
I try to treat my students as I would want someone to treat my kids, with respect, kindness and patience. I will challenge them to think for themselves and foster a love of learning, reading and writing.
I love my job, I believe in kids and I look forward to meeting you!
