About Our Class

“A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.” ~Roald Dahl

CLASSROOM LIBRARY

As a prior reading teacher, I value reading!  I expect students to read at home a minimum of 30 minutes a day.

I have a LARGE classroom library. Students are able to check out one book at a time from my class. Some books have been provided by CTMS while others are my personal books. Books are expected to be treated with respect so that others may continue to enjoy reading them. Students may check out for two weeks at a time. If property is destroyed or lost, students are required to replace same title or pay for a replacement.

If you wish to continue a student’s legacy in the classroom please consider donating some of their favorite books for others to enjoy!

GRADING POLICY:

60% – Assessments (tests) and Major Projects

40% – Daily Grades and Daily Assignments, including warm-ups, homework, workshop and group work

*Test corrections can be made up to a 70% for failing grades.

*You will get 3 bathroom/hallway passes for each 6 weeks. Use them wisely. If you have not used any during the 6 weeks, you will earn 1 point added to your 6 weeks average.

ABSENCES:

If you are absent, you will have the same number of days missed in order to complete the assignment.

Lesson Plans are posted on my website for you and your parents to see the assignments you missed.  All missing handouts will be found in the Absent Bin.  You need to look in the weekly folder for what you missed.

IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO COMPLETE AND TURN IN ANY MISSING WORK!

So true, Unless you find a 30 yr old picture of yourself in horrible shoes and jeans and then you pray you learned your lesson and used it to make sure you have better fashion sense when someone takes a picture of you.
